Rodan and Fields
For the past year or so I have seen all these Rodan and Fields “before and after” photos on my Instagram feed. Just being honest here; I tend to be a bit skeptical and think things like “it has to be edited” or “its just a change in lighting” but these photos looked pretty convincing so I decided to give it a try. I have terrible bags under my eyes and have my whole life. Every time I have spoken with a dermatologist about it I get the same answer “They are genetic and no cream will help you. All you can do to fix them is surgery.” I have tried countless creams with literally no results at all. Over the years I have made peace with the extra baggage because, well, you can just keep all knives the heck away from my eye balls!
To be completely candid, I was not really expecting to see results with Rodan and Fields but I figured why not try one last-ditch attempt to get my bags to hit the road. I started using the redefine regimen along with the multi-function eye cream two months ago. I should also say that I did not go from using nothing to starting this regimen. I had previously been using Shiseido products (their deep cleansing foam and bio-performance face and eye cream) but had seen no major improvements.
When I started using the redefine regimen, I noticed almost immediately that my face felt smoother and better hydrated. One of my favorite products has been the cleansing mask. I had never used a cleansing mask before and it made such a noticeable difference in my skin. I realized my skin felt less dry and ashy long after I used all of the products and my skin tone looked a lot more even as well. After two months of using the products I compared the before and after photos of my eyes and I was pretty surprised at the results. The photo on the left is the before picture and the photo on the right is the after picture. Now, I realize that I clearly still have bags. It’s not the complete miracle I’ve been hoping for BUT this is the first cream that has made a difference at all with my stubborn bags and that is huge! If you look at the outer corner of my eye its quite different than the before picture. I can definitely tell that the bags under my eyes have decreased. I’m thinking if this actually helped my bags – which are super stubborn and genetic – than it has to produce even better results with people who have bags because of lack of sleep or age. Overall, I have been really happy with this whole skincare regimen. My skin feels (and looks) a lot younger and my hope is that the bags continue to get even better with continued months of use.
