Celebrating Our Ten Year Anniversary At The Delamar West Hartford
It’s crazy to think that I have been married for a decade! The time really flies by and I am thankful to have spent almost a third of my life along side my best friend. We had planned on taking a big trip to Europe for our 10 year anniversary but since COVID hit we canceled our plans and decided to just get away for a weekend locally. Once we made the decision to stay local I knew right away where I wanted to spend our Anniversary. We had stayed at the Delamar in Southport last year and had the most amazing time. We kept talking about how we needed to go back but I thought it would be fun to try one of their other locations. We made the decision to check out the Delamar’s West Hartford location and it was everything we had hoped it would be!
The first thing you notice when you pull up to the Delamar West Hartford is the incredible location. It’s directly across the street from Blueback square so all you have to do is walk across the street for direct access to some of West Hartford’s best shopping and restaurants. I was immediately struck by the elegant décor when I first walked into the lobby. The whole hotel has a luxuriously classy yet modern feel and the rooms are beautifully decorated.
I was blown away by the gorgeous stand alone tub in our room. It came complete with a little sachet of bath salts placed neatly on the stand next to it, ready to be used for a nice long soak. We had arrived late at night but when I opened the curtains the next morning I was completely surprised to find the most amazing little private terrace just for us! It’s truly the perfect little spot to sit and have a morning coffee.
I had booked a massage for the morning after I checked in. Their spa is absolutely beautiful and it would be hard to ever find a more relaxing experience! They have the most peaceful lounge where you can wait and enjoy a cup of tea before or after your treatments and every detail is decorated perfectly. My massage was such a needed time to unwind and I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommend making some time for the spa during your stay at the Delamar!
We spend our day mostly relaxing and walked around the shops at Blue Back square for a bit. Later that evening we had the most unbelievable meal at Artisan. If you are not familiar with Artisan, they serve the freshest farm to table food that is all locally sourced. Many of the ingredients, like the sprig of rosemary that was in my cocktail, come right from their own garden on site. Dinner there is truly an experience. Everything from the unique flavors of the food to it’s beautiful platting is so thoughtfully crafted. With how good their food is, it may be difficult, but make sure you leave room for desert! It will most certainly leave you with a lasting impression!
