The Perfect Summer Detox Salad

There is something about eating a giant salad in the summer that is incredibly refreshing to me. To be quite honest, I never used to enjoy salads. I finally found out that the key to making a good salad great is all in the dressing. I love a dressing that is light, bright and full of citrus so I set out to make the perfect Tahini and apple cider vinegar citrus dressing that’s full of anti-inflammatory properties for a healthy and delicious lunch.
The secret to this dressing is using Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar blends in Citrus Ginger. Ginger is widely recognized for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and the citrus blend gives the apple cider vinegar a citrus twist that’s perfect for a dressing. Pro Tip: I always add a tablespoon or two to my water with a squeeze of lime for a refreshing and healthy drink to go with my salad. Use code BABBLE10 on bragg.com to get 10% off your order!
For the base of my dressing I used Mighty Sesame Organic Tahini because it’s packed with nutrition and so easy to use with their squeeze bottle design. You can also make a spicy version of this dressing by subbing out their original flavor with the Harissa Spice flavor. Tahini is a great source of protein and also has 260mg of calcium in one serving. It also tastes great squeezed over veggies on it’s own!
One of my complaints about salad’s in the past has been that I get hungry soon after eating one. A quick fix for this has been to add some healthy grains to my salads. I never want to take the time to cook up quinoa or rice so I was thrilled when Minute Ready to Serve Brown Rice and Quinoa came to the rescue. It combines the crunchiness of red quinoa with the chewy texture of brown rice and takes only one minute to heat up.
Here is the simple ingredient list for the salad:
1 .Romaine lettuce chopped
2. Cucumber slices
3. Red pepper chopped
4. Black olives sliced
5. Minute Ready to Serve Brown Rice and Quinoa
Directions: Simply heat the rice as directed and combine all ingredients to your liking!
Citrus Ginger Tahini detox-dressing:
1/3 cup Mighty Sesame Organic Tahini
Juice from ½ lime (or lemon)
2 Tablespoons Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar blends in Citrus Ginger
1-2 Tablespoons water (or as much as is needed for the dressing to be the consistency you would like)
Directions: Simply combine all ingredients, mix together and serve!
I hope you love this delicious, anti-inflammatory detox salad! Enjoy!
