Living Room Redesign With Arhaus
I remember moving into our home just a few weeks before having our first baby. It was our very first house and while it was small, compared to the apartment we had been in, it felt like a castle. Fast forward two babies, add in all the “things” that come with them (not to mention no toy room) and then throw a pandemic into the mix that keeps us inside all day. Let’s just say that the walls of that once “grand castle” have felt like they are closing in on me a little more every day. While our hope truly is to move in the next year or two I have been trying to find ways to maximize our space as well as enjoy it a bit more while we are still here and stuck indoors so often. I figured 2021 is a whole new year so we should have a whole new living room to go with it!
I partnered with Arhaus to refresh our space and I could not be happier with how it all came out. The second I walked into their new store at The SONO Collection I completely fell in love. I had been browsing their website before heading in but seeing the quality and uniqueness of their pieces in person really blew me away. I knew I wanted something for the living room that would give us a bit of extra storage for toys as well as hide all the media cables we had tried (but failed) to camouflage under an arm chair. I thought a media console would be a perfect space saving solution for our living room and it turns out I was very, very right.
Arhaus had so many gorgeous media consoles that it was actually quite difficult to choose. I really loved the light wash of their Raeburn Media console and the details of the unfinished wooden ends really sold me. It looks like this particular media console has actually sold out but they have many others that are similar and I will add a link to them for you HERE. We added the finishing touch to the console with a gorgeous faux orchid arrangement from their collection. Everyone comments on how beautiful it is and how it looks so real. Their Faux plant arrangements are really one of a kind and add so much life to a room.
Next we chose a coffee table and if you follow along on my Instagram Stories you may already know that we had a bit of a hiccup with choosing the right one. We had initially decided on the Sullivan Coffee table. It is a gorgeous wooden coffee table that I truly loved (and still love). I promise you, before confirming our choice we had looked up the dimensions, got out our measuring tape to see how big it would be in our space and it looked like it would fit. Once we had it in our living room we quickly realized we had not measured correctly as it was far too large for our space. Luckily they were able to find another blogger nearby and we were able to drop it off for her to style the piece in her livingroom. It fit her space much better and you can actually check out how it turned out on Meg Hall’s blog HERE if your curious.
After reassessing we decided to go with the Ludvig Coffee Table and we have been so happy with it. It’s the perfect table with having kids. It seems virtually indestructible, with no sharp edges and easily handles my girls climbing all over it. Cosette has even decided she prefers it to the couch. Most days you can find her siting cross legged in the center of it while eating goldfish and watching her post-nap show. Aside from being kid friendly, the detail in the stone is absolutely stunning! When my girls aren’t camped out on top of it, I love to style it with some neutral books that pop against the dark stone along with the Klasa Dark Gold Platter to add little shine to the table. You can check out their current coffee tables HERE.
To tie it all together we got one of their gorgeous Valencia Grey Handwoven Rugs. I really can’t speak highly enough about the quality of the Arhaus pieces we received and this handwoven rug is no different. It’s just a beautifully crafted rug that truly adds so much warmth to the room.
Our living room is now my favorite room to be in as the pieces we chose really give it such a beautiful and restful ambiance. It feels so good to love the furniture in our home, even more so when our space is limited. I know these pieces are heirloom quality as well as timeless designs that will likely be passed down to our girls one day. If your local, I really encourage you to check out Arhaus at The SONO collection and if not you can easily shop them online. I can’t think of a better time to splurge on a home décor update than when your stuck in your house 99% of the time! I know I am incredibly thankful for our living room refresh!

Kelly
