How I Wore Hair Extensions For an Entire Month Without Even My Husband Knowing!

I have always had long hair so I never really entertained the idea of getting extensions. I was talking with a friend a few months ago who used extensions to add volume to her hair and it got me thinking a bit. My hair has never been super thick and some added volume sounded amazing. I had a lot of questions though as I had never seriously considered extensions before. I am no hairdresser and I can hardly put my hair in a messy bun so the thought of putting in extensions sounded super intimidating to me. I also really wanted to look natural. I was worried about finding a color that matched my hair and if the extensions would be noticeable. I had heard stories about clips showing through hair, extensions falling out or just looking really fake. Also, being someone who has never even used fake eyelashes I knew trying extensions would be a big jump for me. I at that point I never seriously thought about investing in extensions but at the same time, somewhere in the back of my mind, every time I would see someone with super thick long hair I would think about it.

I knew it would still take me a little bit to feel confident in wearing my extensions so I made the decision not to tell anyone, including my husband. I really wanted to see if anyone would notice or say anything. The first time my husband saw me wearing them he told me I looked really pretty that day but he couldn’t put his finger on why. I continued to get compliments from friends saying I looked really nice but no one asked specifically about my hair. I wore my extensions almost every day for an entire month and, although I got a lot of compliments, not a single person asked if I changed my hair (I should also just say that I have the kind of friends who would definitely comment if they noticed me wearing extensions. I assure you this was not a case of people just being polite).

The day my husband found out I had been wearing extensions was the day I was preparing for this photo shoot. I had my extensions clipped on their hanger and was in the bathroom curling them when my husband walked upstairs. He looked completely shocked and confused when he asked me what I was doing (I don’t think he even knew extensions were a thing lol.) I told him I had been wearing them almost daily for a whole month and he didn’t even believe me. I told him he had complimented me almost every time I wore them but he could never figure out why I looked a bit different. I think he is still in disbelief lol.

I am feeling really comfortable wearing my extensions these days and I actually want to invest in more. I would love a pair to add a little extra length or even possibly get a pair with ombre tips so I can play around with my hair styles a bit.
