The Two Ingredients You Want in Your Dog's Food

Ayla recently decided she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Let me just tell you that Wimble has been such a champ about her newly found aspiration. His day is now usually comprised of a 3 ½ yr old chasing him around with a stethoscope. Along with her little career goals have come many questions about how to be a good pet owner and take care of her doggie. I shared with Ayla that one of the ways we take care of Wimble is by giving him healthy food, like the Purina ONE® Chicken and Rice. (We always grab it on our weekly target run but if you prefer to shop online, you can easily find it HERE.)
When it comes to making sure Wimble is getting everything he needs in his food, there are two ingredients I look for: I always want to make sure his food is packed with omega 6’s and that his food has glucosamine in it. The reason glucosamine is super important for dogs is because it’s what helps them to repair body tissue like cartilage. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, which restores joint health naturally and increases their mobility (so Wimble can keep up with a very active toddler!). The other important ingredient, omega 6’s, are what will help your dog’s coat stay shiny and soft, keep their skin healthy, and even help them fight off infections! We love Purina ONE because, not only is real chicken the #1 ingredient, but it's packed with omega 6’s and naturally occurring glucosamine.
I love that Target sells Purina ONE because it makes it super easy for me to pick it up while running other errands. Also, a little parenting hack: I have a target red card (which offers free shipping) so when my cart is super full and I am juggling two kiddos, I occasionally just have a bag shipped directly to my front door. It saves me from carrying a heavy Purina ONE bag and two little humans into the house with all the other Target bags!
Wimble has been eating Purina ONE for over 4 years now. In case you're still unsure about trying a new brand, Wimble told me to let you know he’s very sure your pup will love it as much as he does!
XO,
Kelly (and Wimble)
